We must mention the coastal pine forest in Rota. It was artificially planted early in the century, as well as the sand dune system, both of these factors are what make this area today a land rich in different flora and fauna species.

Speaking of the fauna we would like to mention the common chameleon, as well as other species of birds and reptiles.

The Botanical garden, the Natural Park of La Almadraba, Park Rodriguez Felix de la Fuente, the sand dunes, the Corrales...all of these things make the city of Rota the best natural environmental showcase. In the province of Cadis there are other natural parks and protected spaces like the Natural Park of the Acorns, the authentic lung for this province, the Natural Park of the Sraits, the Litoral Park, Natural Park of la Breña and Marismas de Barbate, as well as the Natural Park of the bay of Cadis. Probably the most famous though is the Natuarl park of Doñana. The options to enjoy nature in Rota and it´s surroundings is great.
